VoxBox Favorite: John Frieda 3 Day Spray

Disclaimer: Although I did receive this product in my latest Influenster VoxBox, I was not compensated for this review and this review was not mandatory. I am giving my honest opinion because this product truly worked for me and I hope it will also work for some of you!

Frizz. Frizz. Frizz. My flatiron is my best friend – welcome to my life.

Prior to the discovery of my flatiron, I was a mess. Think: Princess Mia, Princess Diaries, Pre-Makeover. No kidding.

In the past, I’ve tried products with Keratin in them. I even had a keratin treatment last year, which did wonders to my hair. Living in the south proves an even bigger problem because I have to deal with humidity. High humidity days = ponytail hair.

Influenster JaDore Vox Box

I was excited to find John Frieda’s Frizz Ease 3 Day Spray included in the Influenster JaDore VoxBox - imagine my surprise when I discovered that the spray also listed keratin as an ingredient!

After reading up on the directions, I got to work. First, I washed my hair with my everyday shampoo and conditioner.

John Frieda 3 Day Spray

After towel drying, I brushed my hair then applied about 10-12 sprays of John Frieda’s Frizz Ease 3 Day Straight formula throughout my hair. (It is ok to use more or less depending on thickness and length of hair, but try not to go overboard with the spray…)

The directions state to spray this formula on your hair while still wet – do not dry your hair before applying the spray.

I ran a brush through my hair again, then used a blow dryer to completely dry my hair.

This spray is heat activated, so blow drying is an important step.

Once my hair was dry, I straightened my hair with a flat iron.

Ok, you ready for this?!

Before:

(No, this is not exaggerated in any way. This is my hair on a daily basis. *sigh)

Frizzy Hair

After:

Flat Ironed Hair John Frieda

Pretty amazing difference, right?!

Flat Ironed Hair John Frieda 2

My hair was soft, smooth, and shiny - I couldn’t stop running my fingers through it! Day 2 was the same and I only had to touch up a few spots with the flat iron. (I wash my hair every other day, so I didn’t get the chance to test out a third day with this spray.)

I will continue to use this product and will keep my eyes out for it in stores! I’m excited I had the opportunity to test out this product as it’s one I will add to my normal hair routine.

Thanks Influenster and John Frieda!

nuNAAT Keratin Review

Being from Southwest Louisiana, my hair doesn’t always cooperate with me. I have very curly, thick, frizzy hair that loves to do exactly what I don’t want it to do.

Most of the time, you’ll see me with my hair up in a pony tail, wearing an athletic band, especially if the temperatures are on the warmer end.

My flat iron is pretty much my best friend and without it, my hair is a mess.

Enter: nuNAAT

I recently discovered their Keratin infused products and I am in love!

The nuNAAT Brazilian Keratin product is a 5 step process that I go over in my short You Tube video below! Check it out!

Step 1 and 2 involves washing/rinsing your hair with nuNAAT Brazilian Keratin Shampoo and Conditioner as normal.

Step 3 is an intensive hair mask that you place in your hair while wet and wrap in a towel for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, the mask is then rinsed.

Step 4 and 5 is a serum and reconstructor. The serum can be placed in wet or dry hair (and needs to be used in small amounts, otherwise it will make your hair look greasy). The reconstructor is used on wet hair. It is recommended that after using reconstructor, the hair is blown dry and then flat ironed, because heat activates and locks the keratin in place.

The end result? Silky, smooth, and manageable hair! I have used this product for 2 weeks and I love it! nuNAAT makes different products for all different hair types – they even have a hair type selector on their website that helps you find the best product for your hair! Please know, this Keratin product works very well with my hair type – if you have a different hair type, this specific product might work differently for your hair. Each of nuNAAT’s collections are designed to meet the needs of different hair types, textures, and styling routines.

From their website, Brazilian Keratin nuNAAT products:

  • Works with all hair types
  • Repairs cuticle damage
  • Regenerates and strengthens hair fibers
  • Restores natural shine and softness
  • Seals hair cuticles
  • Reduces volume and frizz
  • Makes hair resilient and healthy
  • Formaldehyde and sodium chloride free

One downfall I’ve seen – time. If I don’t have time to use the mask, 15 minutes is out of the question. However, the hair mask doesn’t have to be used every time you wash your hair! It’s recommended that the hair mask is used once a week to once per month depending on the dryness of your hair.

Other than the time factor, I have NO complaints! I absolutely love the way my hair feels and behaves after using these Keratin infused products!

Also, their website states that these products are available at selected Walgreens, Wal-Mart stores, and Beauty Supply stores! (Score!) Believe it or not, this whole 5 step system is around $32.00 total! Comparing the price of nuNAAT products with Keratin products I’ve used in the past, this is a VERY good deal.

Please note: I received products from nuNAAT for free for the purpose of the review. All of the opinions expressed are my own.

What’s your hair like? Does it behave and do what you want it to do? Have you ever tried Keratin products?
