Running Playlist (Podcast Edition)
When I first became a runner, music was all my thing (and it still can be, but it's not my first go-to anymore). I loved the sounds of upbeat music piping into my ears as my feet hit the pavement during a run. However, as I evolved as a runner and discovered new things, the world of podcasting was introduced to me thanks to a friend, and it's been history ever since!
If you're a Disney fan and enjoy listening to podcasts, keep reading - here's a few of my favorites below!
My absolute number one favorite podcast is currently the Be Our Guest podcast. These guys are fun to listen to and always share a wealth of knowledge about the latest and greatest at Disney!
The Joyful Miles podcast is another I enjoy listening to. Joyful Miles is especially high on the list as these ladies always keep me laughing and entertained while sharing all things runDisney and running related!
The Disney Dish podcast is brought to you by Jim Hill and Len Testa - these guys are seriously Disney geniuses and it's always interesting to listen to their take on the happenings at the park and in the world of Disney.
Now being a DVC Member, I've also branched out into a few new (to me) podcasts that include the Welcome Home Podcast and the Resort Loop podcast for their monthly DVC Roundtable.
Like I mentioned earlier, I do listen to the music on the occasion, but my main go-to is usually a podcast! I love getting lost in a run while listening to stories of Disney in my ears. Podcasts definitely help the time and the miles pass by!
What's on your running playlist?
Today, I'm also linking up with KookyRunner and Zenaida for Tuesday Topics!

Podcast Favorites
How do you find a podcast, you might ask? Well, it's fairly simple! I personally use the podcast icon on my iPhone, but a lot of these podcasts can also be found through iTunes, Stitcher, and Podbean, just to name a few!
This method allows users to make a favorites playlist which updates every time a new podcast is posted. That way, users can listen to the newest from each of their favorites in one feed, just by opening the app. I love it!
Now, without further adieu, here's a selection of podcasts from my favorites list (in no particular order.....except the first one because they really are my favorite)!
#1 The Disney Exchange
Y'all know I love these guys as I've shared this numerous times. They keep me laughing and highly entertained. Lisa, Dave, & Nick are the best! They were even nice enough to have me as a guest on one of their runDisney podcasts! Check it out if you missed it! :)
#3 Mickey Miles & More
These podcasts are a bit on the shorter side which is perfect for me and a short run or a short drive around town. These guys talk about a variety of runDisney and regular Disney topics/Disney updates!
This is a newer podcast, but I've enjoyed listening thus far! Mallory was a favorite from the Dixie Landings Radio Podcast (no longer in action), so I'm glad to see that she's started her own!
#6 Disney Cruise Line Blog Podcast
Yes! What could be more perfect than a Disney Cruise Line specific podcast?! I'm just a few episodes in, but this one is great for all things DCL!
#6 Enchanted Tiki Talk Podcast
Again, this is a newer one to my playlist, but these guys are also hilarious and keep me laughing and entertained! This is an all-dudes podcast and I enjoy listening to their back-and-forth banter!
#7 Fit Mouse Podcast
Although they aren't recording podcasts as regular anymore, I still enjoy listening when one pops up in my feed! These ladies discuss all things health/fitness/Disney and it's another great one to listen to while out for a run!
#8 WDW Radio
Last but not least, I can't go without mentioning WDW Radio! Another long-time podcast, this one has plenty of episodes to listen back on if your playlist is ever full! They also have a running team who participate in runDisney events...it's always fun to see them out on the course!
Well, that's it for my current playlist of favorites! Are you a podcast fan? If so, what are your favorites?
Tuesdays on the Run hosted by Erika, Marcia, & Patty!

Listening On My Run...
Last year, I was introduced to the wonderful world of podcasts and boy did my running preferences change! Podcasts exist on any and every topic you can imagine and the possibilities are endless! Want to learn another language...podcasts exist. Interested in learning more about natural childbirth? Yep...there's a podcast for that. Sports? Yep. Disney? You bet!
My favorite time to listen to podcasts is while I'm out for a run or on a walk with Brayden. Sometimes if the podcast is a good one, I want to keep going (now THAT is motivation)! I love the fact that each show is always something new so you aren't listening to the same thing over and over again...definitely a helpful distraction on a tough run!
Being the Disney fan I am, I'm sure you can tell which topic I most often like to listen to? You got it!
Since I've found several podcasts that I enjoy listening to, I thought I would share them with you all today.
First and foremost, my favorite podcast to date is The Disney Exchange. I'm sure you've seen my instagram/tweets about the show, but I seriously enjoy listening to them! The three hosts are hilarious and are a great mix - they really flow well together! New episodes are released every Sunday and I always look forward to my Monday morning run because I know a new episode is waiting for me! They were also kind enough to have me on an episode back in November where we discussed all things runDisney. If you missed it, check it out here!
Up next is the Fit Mouse Podcast. Becca and Marci are the hosts and they discuss a variety of health related topics followed by a bit of Disney news in each podcast. These ladies are fun to listen to and I love their personalities. One of my favorite episodes took place last year where they discussed the Princess Half Marathon and gave a bit of an inspirational message. Check them out if you are looking for a fun podcast to listen to while out for a run!
Last but not least is the Be Our Guest podcast. These guys record three shows a week so there's always something to listen to! They also have a facebook running group called the Be Our Guest Lizards and it's fun to interact there as well (although I admit, I do more reading than I do interacting)!
A couple of additional podcasts I enjoy are Dixie Landings Radio and the The WDW Radio Show.
That's all for my favorites! Are you a podcast listener and if so, do you have a favorite show? Please share in the comments! I'm always looking for new podcasts to add to the mix!

Long Run & Family Weekend
On Saturday, I ran six miles with my running group. I was excited for this run for two reasons – #1 it was around one of my favorite running spots and #2 the temperature outside was perfect!
Next Saturday, I’m running a 5 miler that goes along a very similar route, so it was nice to see the route again and get a feel for the course.
The sunrise was beautiful
The temps made for a perfect run! No aches or pains at all, either! Yay!
Remember the KT Tape debacle? Well, I ordered a few rolls of Rock Tape off Amazon and used it for the Diva’s Half. Guess what? Rock Tape didn’t stick on me, either. Whomp whomp. I’ve tried a few different things and I am pretty sure my problem is the humidity. When the humidity is at 100% and it’s and hot outside, nothing wants to stick. I’ve even tried putting zero tension on the tape and just sticking it straight to my leg – which seems to stay in place a little bit longer, but does nothing for me because there’s no tension at all. How do people get this stuff to stick for days? I’m completely baffled.
I haven’t given up, though! I’m still trying here – guess my next step will be the spray that someone suggested (because apparently hair spray isn’t doing the trick). We shall see what happens!
Ok, enough about that…back to the weekend!
After my run, I came home and listened to another new (to me) podcast called The Disney Exchange. These guys discuss anything and everything Disney and are hilarious! I met Lisa at the Catfish Festival 5K last month and have enjoyed listening to her, Dave, and Nick on this podcast! Give them a listen sometime if you have a free moment!
On Saturday, we spent time with Jason’s family – first we saw the Avengers with his sister and brother-in-law. After the movie, we came home for a nap then went to his uncle’s 50th birthday party. Our niece ran around with my phone taking “selfies” for a little while which was oh-so-cute! I even managed to jump in one for a hot second before she was off again!
Yesterday, I went grocery shopping and had the new Ben & Jerry’s Jimmy Fallon ice cream on my list. I’d seen it on social media all weekend and thought it sounded good (ah the power of social media)! Luckily, there was ONE left on the shelf and I managed to snag it!! Jason and I taste tested it last night and we loved it! :)
How was your weekend? I hope you had a great one!! :) Have you tried The Tonight Dough? If so, what were your thoughts? Happy Monday!

New Favorite: The Fit Mouse Podcast
Happy Thursday! Hope it’s been a great week for everyone! This week has been a bit busy here, but it’s fun! My church is hosting a 5K in honor of veterans (around the 4th of July) and I’ve been asked to help plan the event. We met last night after service and I was at church until 10 p.m….eek! We got a lot done, so that’s all that matters! I can’t wait to see the pieces of this event come together – it’s going to be great!
Today, I’m sharing a few new favorite of mine with you! I love to come across new things…..and I enjoy sharing them with you in hopes you’ll like them, too!
My newest addiction favorite is in the form of podcast…the Fit Mouse Podcast, that is! While in Winnsboro a few weeks ago, my friend Lisa told me about this podcast and I knew I had to check it out! (Speaking of Lisa, she also has her own Podcast called The Disney Exchange…go check it out!)
The Fit Mouse Podcast is run by Bekka and Marci and they discuss all things Disney, Running, Fitness, Healthy Living, etc.
Y’all. I LOVE THEM!!
The first time I listened to their podcast while running, I didn’t want to stop (running or listening)! I tweeted them as soon as I finished running and a few weeks later, they gave me a shout-out in one of their podcasts as a new listener! How cool is that?!
These ladies are entertaining and I love listening to something new while out on the road – it definitely helps pass the time!
My favorite episode so far is the Princess Half Marathon episode. I LOVED the end – it literally gave me chills!
A passage of John Bingham’s Marathoning for Mortals was read and oh my gosh guys…
“Right now as you’re standing at the starting line, millions of other people also want to walk or run a half-marathon or marathon. They dream about it at work, in the car, or while watching television. They know just how they want it to be. They think they know what the training will be like, what their bodies will look like, what the race will be like, and how it will feel to stand at the starting line. They even believe that they know how it will feel to cross the finish line.
But they’re just dreaming. You’re DOING. On race morning, when you are out there standing at the starting line with your number on, surrounded by others just like you, you will know what they only imagine. You will feel it, see it, smell it, and experience it. Unlike those who only dream, you’ve earned the right to be a part of the experience.
By getting to the starting line, you’ve already placed yourself in the top echelon of athletes. You may not be the top tier of that race, but as a long distance athlete, you are fitter, more trained, and better disciplined, than 99% of the population that has ever lived. Remind yourself of that when you start to obsess about your pace or finish time.
When you stand at the starting line, you join the club. When you stand at the starting line, you earn your membership. Millions dream of being where you are. You are no longer a dreamer. You are a doer.
If you’re standing at the starting line, you’ve not only accepted the challenge, but you’ve beaten back the demons. You’ve conquered your imagination and self-imposed limitations. You’ve gone farther, gotten stronger, and gotten tougher than you ever imagined.
The miracle truly isn’t that your are going to finish, but that you had the courage to start.”
After all of that, they played Hercules “I Can Go The Distance”…I’m pretty sure that was one of my fastest training runs to date AND I had a giant smile on my face as soon as I was done!
I HAVE to get this book. I just have to. I also have to run another marathon, but that’s another race for another day. :)
This magnet is on my fridge and it makes me smile every time I see it! :)
The Fit Mouse Podcast can be accessed through a smart phone (using a podcast app). Currently, only the latest 10 episodes are listed in the app…but Bekka and Marci recently added all of their older episodes to their website for live-streaming! Now you can listen to it all!
Do you ever listen to podcasts while running? If so, what’s your favorite?
