Mackenzie & Corey's Wedding

This weekend, I was involved in one of the cutest weddings ever! It was an outdoor wedding and the bride and her mom paid a ton of attention to detail...I loved it!

It all began with a rehearsal, where we were stuck by a draw bridge! Thankfully, we weren't late!

Following the rehearsal, we had dinner at a local restaurant, complete with personalized menus!

The appetizers consisted of cheese wedges, shrimp, and oysters. I was braved and tried them all, but I wasn't a fan of the oysters. The shrimp and cheese on the other hand were great!

I was brave in another aspect as well - I ordered the FISH as an entree! This was my first time trying fish since my pregnancy and I liked it! Woohoo! (If you read my pregnancy updates, you know that fish was one of my major food aversions...yuck!)

So, the wedding colors were coral and yellow. We all dressed in coral, but not on purpose! Whoops!

Brayden wore an outfit the bride bought for him at Christmas (before he was even born). She was so surprised and excited to see him in her gift! I'm glad it finally fit him and worked for the occasion!

Wedding morning began with Starbucks (of course)!

The bride also gifted us with these adorable robes! I might have worn mine all weekend, too. Whoops.

The wedding was at a cute little chapel in the next town over, so we took a shuttle ride there. Luckily, our church owns a shuttle and the bride's dad is the children's pastor...so it all worked out!

Lace and pearls!

The bride and groom opted to have a "first look" prior to the wedding ceremony. I'd never been involved in one, so I was excited to sneak a peak at this one! So cute!

Yes her wedding was outside...in June...in Southwest Louisiana. However, I loved everything about it and wouldn't change a thing! I also didn't sweat to death like I thought I would! :)

As I mentioned before, the attention to detail at this wedding was amazing! As avid Disney fans, LOTS of hidden Mickey's were placed throughout the ceremony and reception!

One of the bridesmaids might have stolen this Mickey topiary for a few minutes...and I might have chased her around for it.

I'm so making myself one of these!

Iced water was a must for the wedding party! I loved joking with my friend's husband that he was our "errand boy"! Hehe!

Small wedding emergencies call for a needle and thread...thank goodness for the Bride's mom and thinking ahead! Crisis was averted in the end. :)

I loved her guestbook idea! She came over to my house the week of the wedding and we cut these letters out on my silhouette. We also made a sign to go at the road, but I don't have a picture of that one.

Isn't this venue precious? It was so nice and peaceful!

Hidden Mickey! :)

I loved her colors, too! This wedding literally stepped out of the pages of Pinterest!

They signed their marriage license with the Mickey pen and the little box held their wedding rings!

I LOVED our dresses and shoes! This is definitely one of my favorites to date!

On the way out, we were stopped by the bridge again but it's ok...we were able to enjoy the sunset while waiting!

I might have kept all of my jewelry on for dinner.  I'm sure others thought I was crazy but oh well! :)

On our way to dinner, we decided to stop and "decorate" the married couple's vehicle! Fun times!

Our dinner consisted of one of my favorites in town - a messy, sloppy, roast beast poboy. If you're ever in my neck of the woods, let me know and I'll tell you how to get to this place. It's delicious!

I'm so happy for my friends, Mackenzie and Corey and am so grateful they chose me to be a part of their special day! Love you guys....here's to many years of happiness ahead!

Weekend Review Take 2

This past weekend was another fun one! I just love weekends here lately and am enjoying the extra time I have to spend with my husband and family!

On Friday after work, I met up with my mom and dad for lunch at Jason's Deli. I also took a nap that afternoon! :) Such exciting times here!

I wasn't able to sleep well on Saturday night, which means I also woke up early and couldn't fall back asleep. Don't you hate it when that happens? Oh well...I made French toast for breakfast for Jason and I, then spent the rest of the morning/afternoon with my mom looking at baby stuff for her house. We scored a new mattress for the baby bed and a second hand bumbo for a great deal!

Saturday night, Jason and I spent the evening celebrating a friend's upcoming marriage. She is getting married in Mexico in May and instead of a Bridal Shower, they had a pre-wedding reception prior to the wedding. It was fun and we had a good time visiting with co-workers and friends!

I was tired of standing to do my hair and makeup, so I rolled the exercise ball into the bathroom! Hey...it served its purpose!

The reception was decorated as a beach theme and was all very pretty!

The bride to be and I! :)

On Sunday, my dad and Jason wore the same Mickey/Disney tie to church (NOT on purpose) but it was so cute, I had to take a picture...awww...

After lunch on Sunday, Jason and I spent a good bit of time in Target using our registry completion discount. We scored a lot of items plus the car seat base for Jason's truck and still have gift cards left over!

Oh yes, and we picked a good week do the registry completion because Target is running a deal right now - if you spent $150 in baby items, you receive a $25 gift card! Score!

Yesterday, I brought Madalynn to the vet for another eyelid growth that popped up about a week ago. This one actually ulcerated, so I decided to bring her in now rather than later.

All of the other eyelid tumors she's had removed (so far a total of 3) have been benign, so I'm crossing my fingers this one is as well. However, she's already had one removed from this exact location in the past, so my vet was a little concerned. We'll see what the results show!

Poor baby was so exhausted after leaving the vet, I brought her by Pets Mart to pick out a toy. She LOVES this little pink Peep and actually fell asleep with it IN her mouth!!

See what I mean? Y'all, she was FAST asleep and that bunny was in her  mouth. When she rolled over, it stayed put...in her mouth! Anesthesia is no joke!

This week, we have a short work week (YAY) followed by Easter Sunday. I love Easter...spring is in the air and so are the promises of a fresh start! The colors of the season, the message behind it all...I just love it! Oh yes, and who can forget cadbury chocolate. YUM!

That's all for my weekend! Happy Tuesday, y'all!

How was your weekend? Did you run in any races?

Rubba Ducks Review and Giveaway

The Boathouse in Walt Disney World is the latest and greatest to hit Downtown Disney Disney Springs (sorry...I'm going to make that mistake for a while, I'm sure). I've read blog reviews, listened to podcasts, and even watched a few youtube vlogs - all excited about this new restaurant! Have you heard of them? If not, check out their website here!

Know what else has flocked to Disney Springs? Rubba Ducks! The Boathouse has paired with Rubba Ducks, making them the only non-Disney toy item in the Boathouse Restaurant gift shop!

How cute are these guys?

Rubba Ducks are filled with personality! They are available in all sorts of themes from sports (even a runner duck!) to careers and hobbies! Rubba Ducks make a great gift for friends, family, and loved ones! I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for the runner duck after Princess!

As a matter of fact, I was sent two Rubba Ducks to review and they couldn't have come at a more perfect time!

Meet: Mr. and Mrs. Duckbells!

Imagine my surprise when I opened the box to find these guys inside! I couldn't wait to bring them as my +2 to the wedding...and that's just what I did!

Check out the detail on their tails!!

The Bride and Groom even enjoyed saying hello to the special guests! :)

...and you shall live happily duckly after...

What makes Rubba Ducks so special from the ordinary duck?
  • It’s all in the details. These ducks are chock full of elements, from vibrant colors to ornate sculpturing to decorative costumes and designs. You’re going to love them!
  • They Float Upright. All.The.Time. Rubba Ducks are designed with weights at the bottom so they will always float upright! Try it in your own sink/bathtub/pool!
  • The ‘Hole’ Story. Most rubber ducks have a hole in the bottom which, when used in the bathtub can retain mold. Not Rubba Ducks! There is no hole in the bottom so NO MOLD!

Check out Rubba Ducks on their social media channels!

Melissa & Everett's Wedding

This past weekend, I was blessed with the honor of standing with one of my closest friends as her Matron of Honor on her wedding day! The weekend was hectic and it took two days for me to catch up on my sleep, but I wouldn't change it for anything!

The bride's colors were kelly green and everything bright! I loved the mix and how the colors flowed together! It came together beautifully!

The bridesmaids and family all wrote letters to the bride and her Maids of Honor put together a scrapbook for her to read prior to the wedding.

My husband was a groomsman and (of course), he brought his X-Box up to the church to occupy time while getting ready. Did this shock me? Not one bit. Boys will be boys I suppose!

All of the groomsmen wore black converse & the bride wore white converse. As a Disney family, her dad had to wear a pair of unique shoes and they were adorable! (Disney Vans from Journeys!)

LOVE!

Before we knew it, the day flew by and it was time to get ready for the wedding!

Silly boys!

Instead of a unity candle or unity sand, the bride and groom painted over the letters on this canvas with two different shades of green, then myself and another bridesmaid peeled the letters off during the ceremony. I wish I had an after picture - it turned out amazing!

My wedding date! :)

A makeshift party bus to the reception!

Wedding cake!

Best friends! :)

We loved the photo booth! So much fun!

The evening flew by and before long, it was time for the bride and groom to say goodbye! Overall, it was a beautiful day and I'm so happy for the new couple! Congratulations, Melissa and Everett!

Stay tuned on Friday for a special giveaway (also a part of my wedding date)! :)
