Legend Compression Ambassador

During the third trimester of my pregnancy, I was asked by the kind folks at Legend Compression to be a part of their Ambassador program. Although I wasn't able to participate in physical activity at the time, they still graciously accepted me into their group!

Now with my return to fitness postpartum, I am excited to have a new pair of compression socks to wear as I will soon begin training for next season's set of races.

I first wore these after my 5 mile bike ride on Saturday and I fell in love!

For starters, let's talk about compression and why it's necessary for athletes:
  • Helps promote circulation
  • Reduces muscle fatigue
  • Reduces soreness post exercise
  • Accelerates recovery and healing
    Source
Legend Compression Wear also incorporates graduated compression technology which helps improve blood flow and oxygen levels - this aids the athlete in running stronger, training harder, and recovering faster.

Do I even need to mention their super cute color options? Yes, I do...

I opted for the aqua pair as it's one of my favorite colors...and it didn't disappoint! Other available colors include black, blue, purple, pink, white, and yellow!

These also run true to size. As an 8 to an 8.5 shoe size, I received a size medium which fit perfectly!

Want to snag a pair for yourself or a fellow athlete?

Here's how!

Head over to the Legend Compression website, click on Athletic Wear.
Choose Performance Socks.

Official Road Sharks!

On Saturday morning, my BRF and I embarked on a grand Road Shark adventure...Gone for a Run's Road Shark Virtual 5 Miler, that is! Shark bait...oooh ha ha.... (I had to, sorry...)

To our amazement, the weather for Saturday morning's run was PERFECT! Low humidity and temperatures in the 70's - I sure wish that would hang around Southwest Louisiana a bit longer!

Our route was a typical Saturday morning group run route and we had a great time laughing, talking, and catching up on recent travels!

Before we knew it, we were at the turnaround point and that's when I realized that we ran 3 miles instead of 2.5, turning this 5 miler into a 6 miler! Whoops! We were just having such a great time, we didn't even realize it! Miles fly when you're having fun! :)

After the run, we awarded medals to each other, then took a few pictures before saying our goodbyes!

I am in LOVE with the shirt from this race!  It's SO soft and comfortable! I didn't run in because I had plans to wear it the rest of the day!

I attempted to get a picture of my watch and this happened....and it stayed stuck like this forever. I finally gave up waiting on it to process!

After returning home, I put my medal on the hanger and my magnet on the fridge! :)

It was such a gorgeous day, I even enjoyed a cup of coffee out on the deck in the back yard!

I'm so glad I had the chance to experience this race with a friend! Overall it was a fun one and the swag was great! Stop by Gone for a Run and see what's next on their list of races to come!

Hope you all had an amazing weekend!

*Disclaimer: As a Gone for a Run Ambassador, I received entry into this race free of charge. No compensation was given in return for this review. All opinions are my own.

Name one highlight of your weekend!

Crazy Cups Coffee

Crazy Cups - sounds like a fun way to start a morning or liven up an afternoon, doesn't it? As a matter of fact, I'm doing the latter right now - the rich aroma of "Death by Chocolate" is greeting me as I type this post!

http://crazycups.com/crazy-cups/

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by the lovely folks over at Crazy Cups to try a sample of their coffee. Not one to say no to anything chocolate, especially flavored coffee (hello, who would?) I immediately agreed!

Just a few days later, my sample arrived in the mail in this adorable gift box!

As I opened the box, I could already smell the sweet aroma of chocolate and knew a fresh brewed cup of brew would smell even better!

A few facts about Crazy Cups:
  • You can choose how many cups you want to purchase at one time
  •  Keurig 2.0 compatible (YAY!)
  • Decaf, Hot Chocolate, and Apple Cider are also available for purchasing
  • Cups are recyclable

Crazy Cups truly stands by this statement - their variety of tantalizing flavors sound amazing! Bananas Foster Flambe, Italian Chocolate Cheesecake, Cinnamon Churro...the list goes on and on!

Just as predicted, my kitchen was filled with the amazing aroma of warm, sweet chocolate as the coffee brewed.

The best part? "Death by Chocolate" lived up to its name...well, almost. (I'm still alive, aren't I?) I'm definitely a fan!

Crazy Cups can be found throughout social media - check them out on:
Are you a coffee fan? What's your favorite flavor of coffee?

Disclaimer: As a Crazy Cups Ambassador, I was sent a package of coffee to review. and no compensation was exchanged. All opinions stated are my own.

Virtual 4th of July 4 Miler (Gone For A Run)

On Friday, I completed Gone For A Run's All 4 Run Virtual 4th of July race! Since I was off of work on Friday, I decided to wake up early (hah) and run before the temperatures became too warm outside.

My plan for this run was to take it easy since I had another 4 mile race the following day. I also planned to run around the same time as my race the following day, to get a feel for the temperature/humidity.

Ugh. It was hot and incredibly humid.

I managed to keep a pace just below a 10 minute mile. In addition to the heat, my legs were incredibly sore from the Tone It Up Kettlebell workout I did on TUESDAY. Y'all - I thought I was doing enough squats and lunges on my own and hello...apparently not. I see more kettlebells in my future!

Look who I spotted during my run! He decided to eat breakfast early to avoid the crazy heat of the day, too! :)

After returning home, I awarded myself with this lovely medal and called it a day! :) Overall I had a fun race and enjoyed the experience!

Gone For A Run puts on many great events throughout the year - check out their Virtual Race Series here. Be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for all the latest and greatest product/race information!

As a Gone For A Run Ambassador, I received free entry into this virtual race. All opinions expressed are my own. :)

Did your weekend plans include a 4th of July race/run?
