The Color Vibe and a Baby Shower!

This past weekend, I spent time doing something I love to do...volunteering! Since Brayden's been born, my volunteer time has been cut incredibly short which is ok because I really love spending time with him. However, it was nice to get back into my old routine, even if just for a short time!

My first volunteer opportunity happened on Saturday morning with The Color Vibe. The American Cancer Society has been the charity partner with this race for the past three or four years and since I'm on the Relay for Life Committee, I had the opportunity to volunteer!

Our crew's main job was the water station and boy did we have it going on! There were over 1,800 runners and only five of us, so it was incredibly fast paced once the runners began flowing in.

We rocked it!

This was the first wave of runners (there were five waves total).

I also had a couple of friends participate in this race and they did amazing! I was so proud of them!! This is obviously the "before" picture...

...and after!

They might have tried to hug me...but I ran away! Haha!

After the color toss, they really had it going on!

If 5K's that involved colored powder is your thing, check out the Color Vibe! It's a great organization and gives back to local charities. They also know how to have a great time!!

After the run, we had to have breakfast of course!

My second function of the weekend took place at our church for my sister-in-law's shower. I was asked to provide the decorations and I had a lot of fun making them! She went with a green/mint nursery theme, so that's what I based the decorations around.

There were several signs like this. Others said "Precious Little Miracle" (because he is...another story for another day), the verse from 1 Samuel 1:27, and the fourth one had his name in bold print.

There are two types of tables in our glass foyer - tall skinny tables and short big tables. I chose two different centerpiece ideas off Pinterest and ran with them.

He's due in April. Get it? April showers! :)

My niece had so much fun pushing Brayden around in the stroller! She's too funny!

After the shower, several of us went shopping at Sams and all happened to purchase matching skirts. They were so cute we couldn't pass them up! After our shopping excursion, we stopped for a sno ball - our favorite, "The Little Mermaid"!

Brayden was all dressed in his St. Patrick's Day themed gear for church this morning. I LOVE the plaid shirt with the blue jeans!

After church, I continued my project of getting the flower beds nice and neat once again.

The weeds were making my head hurt. There's just something about Disney trips - I always want to get my yard looking nice every time I return home from a trip!

Thankfully, this little guy napped for a while then played outside in his jumper while I pulled weeds and guess what?! I'm almost finished! I just knew that the weed pulling would be a week long project and now it's not! YAY!

Next, we are going to buy a few new flowers as well as fresh mulch and make everything nice and pretty once again!

It was an exhausting weekend, especially with the time change, but we had fun! I hope your weekend was great, too! Stay tuned for more updates from our Princess Half Marathon Weekend! :)

Disney Baseball Themed Baby Shower

About a month ago, several of my friends, family, and women I highly respect and admire came together to throw Brayden and I a baby shower. The day was beautiful and perfect and I couldn’t have asked for anything more! These ladies really know my personality and style!!

The shower was held at my church in the children’s building. I’m sure you’ve heard by now that our church experienced flooding back in December which caused a LOT of damage to our main building. Since everything was still under construction (and still is), the original plans had to be tweaked a bit and the shower location was moved to our children’s building sanctuary.

I love what these ladies did with the space that was available for them! The shower theme was just like his nursery, Disney Baseball.

Balloons were even placed on the street corner so no one would get confused as to the location of the shower!

As guests entered, a welcome table was available complete with a sign-in sheet.

I LOVED the favors!!

How cute is that pen? It's shaped like a baseball bat!

Mickey diaper cake!

I also thought these cards were a nice touch! It was fun to come home and read each and every one - I loved all of the personalized wishes for Baby Brayden!

The table centerpieces were a cute as can be with peanuts, pennants, and baseballs!

For the gifting area, they printed pictures from our ultrasounds and a picture from each week of my pregnancy! It was fun to see how much Brayden had grown over the weeks!

They also set up a gift display table for guests to see the gifts once they were opened. How cute are the little baseball outfits hanging behind the table?!

The food area was really cute too! I loved the addition of fresh flowers with the peanuts and sand! :)

Even the drink station was festive!

We saw this cake on pinterest and found someone who could make it. She even added Mickey ears to the hat on the top of the cake!

These cupcakes were super yummy, too!

These corsages were handmade and each of the women figures in our lives received one (my mom, Jason's mom, and Jason's grandmother).

My dress for the shower came from Pink Blush Maternity. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it online! Actually, most of the maternity clothing I purchased for myself came from Pink Blush!

My awesome group of shower hostesses!

My mom, Jason's mom, and Jason's grandmother

Before long, it was time to open gifts!

We were incredibly blessed with the outpouring of love and support from our family and friends! I can't say thank you enough!!

Before I knew it, the shower was over! While everyone cleaned up, I had a bite of cake (or two) and kicked my feet up to relax. (Whoops, sorry guys!) This chair was incredibly comfortable and I didn't want to move, seriously!

All in all, the shower was AMAZING and far beyond anything I could have asked or even dreamed of! I so appreciate all of the women in my life who took time out of their busy schedules to help put on this shower. I also appreciate everyone who came to the shower to show their love and support for the newest addition to our family! I seriously have the best friends and family in the WORLD!! Love you guys!!

Have a wonderful day!! :)

Showers of Blessings

This past week, I was surprised, blown away, and deeply humbled by not one but two baby showers - one from our Wednesday night girls group at church and one from my coworkers!

Right before beginning my middle/high school girls class on Wednesday night, I was "called away" to another room for something...the reasoning was quite vague. When I walked in, the entire group of kids from 4 years old through my high school girls were in the room and they all yelled "surprise"!

They really went all out with the baseball themed food, decor, and they even used our nursery colors!

 Everything was super tasty, too!

How adorable is the cake?! Our 4 year old class teacher made it for the shower!

I wish I had gotten a picture of the entire group - the smaller tables also had kids at them once upon a time!

Oh yes, and check out the adorable invitations! One of my previous students who's now a graphic design major made these! ADORABLE!!

My friend Kim who had a hand in putting all of this together!

...and this little girl is just too cute for words! She's my niece and isn't in our program yet but will be in a few years! :)

On Thursday at lunch, a page was made throughout our department that "the pregnant one" was needed in the break room! Hah!

Well, they were throwing me a baby shower, too! :)

We had a delicious lunch of chicken spaghetti and salad! Look how cute the napkins are!

These cupcakes are hands down some of the best in town! So delicious!

How adorable are these mickey burp cloths?! Love it!

I have a co-worker named Danny so of course, one of his gifts was the Danny and the Dinosaur book!

They know me so well! :)

This gift was a vintage find and I love it!! Baseball Mickey from 1978 complete with tags. He came from one of the parks (World or Land) as far as I can tell!

My awesome group of co-workers!

Now, we have literally everything we need to complete Brayden's nursery and I hope to have it all together by the end of the weekend. I should have a tour of his nursery up and ready to go sometime next week so stay tuned.

Jason and I are so blessed by the love and support that so many people have shown to our little family! If you're reading this, we can't thank you enough!! Love you guys!
