After a whirlwind weekend, it took my body most of the week to calm down and refocus on the things ahead. Not having anything to do on Tuesday and Wednesday evening was nice, which meant Brayden and I could stay at home and just simply chill. I took full advantage of it and I loved it!
In the mean time, I thought about writing a "three things Thursday" post, but all these random thoughts kept coming to my head and I couldn't narrow it down to just three, so bear with me as my brain operates on more than one thing at a time (usually on five things at once).
#1 Hello Fresh
I received a really great deal in the mail that I couldn't pass up, so I bit. We've never tried a service like this before but are excited to! Our first box arrived yesterday and I can't wait to dig in! Definitely stay tuned for a review coming soon!
#2 Running Shoes
Mine pooped out on me. I realized my knee was bothering me more than normal and when I counted out the mileage, I realized that yep...it was definitely time for new ones. I haven't yet received mine from our local running store from the race I won back in April (they are on back order), so I had to check the stock pile in the back of my closet. Lo and behold, there was a pair there that I received as a gift from Christmas, just waiting on me. Oddly enough, they are the same exact color as my previous pair, so I'm going to have to figure out a way to not get them confused. Oh well...at least I like the color!
#3 Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
So, every time I have Brayden in the car with me, I hear this sweet little voice from the back seat saying "Hot Dog! Hot Dog!" No, he's not hungry for a hot dog, he wants to hear the Hot Dog Song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and he knows it's on a CD in my car. (I mean really, how can I deny him?!) Lately, I've been heading to work (without Brayden in the car) and not paying attention to what's going on...then I realize that the Mickey Mouse CD is STILL playing in my car. Seriously. I made it halfway to work yesterday before I even realized it! (Insert face palm emoji here.) I can't be the only one this has happened to. Anyone else?
#4 Iced Coffee
Know the problem of having a PJ's Coffee very close to my Orangetheory gym?! I can stop in and have an iced coffee in the mornings after my workouts. Ok so that's not really a problem, actually. I really love their coffee and the flavors they offer are so good! It also hits the spot in the summer after a hard OT workout!
#5 4th of July Plans
I'm excited for the 4th of July, although having a holiday smack dab in the middle of a week kinda throws things off a bit. I'm planning on participating in our local 4th of July race and then seeing the fireworks that evening with a friend and our kids! It's shaping up to be a fun day!
Have you ever tried a mail delivery food service? What's your 4th of July plans?

Weekend Recap
Hello and happy Wednesday! I've attempted to write this blog post for two days now, but I kept getting taken away from my desk (and one night, sleep won out...I'm sure you moms understand what I mean with this one)!
So, this past weekend was a nice and relaxing weekend and I really enjoyed spending time with my two main men - my husband and my baby!
On Friday after work, I spent a little time with Brayden, then headed to a friend's house for a game night! We played Loaded Questions and Speak Out which were both hilarious!
While we were having fun indoors, craziness was happening outdoors!
Thankfully, we all made it home safely and in one piece!
On Saturday morning, I ran in the early morning with my friend Heather. We are both training for Rock N Roll NOLA and needed to get another decent long run in before the race. We decided on 10 miles for Saturday and had a great time! (More about Friday's run later!)
I also had my first slice of King Cake this weekend which of course had to be paired with a cup of King Cake roast from PJ's coffee!
Saturday was a great mail day, too! Our Magical Express tags for Princess Weekend arrived! YAY!
In between Brayden's naps and lunch, Jason and I discussed, searched, and debated and finally decided on our 10 year Anniversary trip. We haven't booked it just yet, but we are going to sail on the Fantasy on an Eastern Caribbean itinerary. The Fantasy is the only DCL ship we haven't been on, and we've never been to the Eastern Caribbean, so we figured this was a win win! I am so excited!!
Brayden and I spent a bit of time outdoors and he LOVED walking around the driveway! So much fun!
Afternoon nap time snuggles are the best!
We also had dinner with my parents on Saturday night which was a fun treat! We love spending time with them! :)
Sunday morning brought about church and more time with friends! On Sunday evening, we had dinner at a local pizza joint which was delicious!
Love my friends! :)
Now we are midway through another week and looking forward to another great weekend! I hope you have a fabulous one!! :)

Mandeville Weekend in Pictures
Hi there and happy Monday! I spent the weekend in Mandeville, Louisiana for a race weekend and had a blast! Here's some pictures and tidbits of our weekend!
Off we go on our latest adventure!
Our first stop was for a potty break along the Atchafalaya Basin (pregnancy bladder). If you're ever in the area, this is the coolest visitors center/rest stop I've ever seen!
There's even a little movie you can watch, depicting life in Louisiana!
Free Community coffee, too!
Of course, the Baton Rouge bridge was full of traffic...and of course, they were playing the Florida Gators this past weekend (as usual).
As tradition, Heather had to gator chomp everyone. The first time she did this (several years ago), I died. now I think it's hilarious!
Packet pickup was held at Varsity Sports in downtown Mandeville. This is seriously the cutest little town and I love to visit!
If you couldn't tell from the bridge/gator chomp picture, Heather is NOT an LSU fan. Sooo, when I saw the official race shirts for this race (they were purple and gold with a tiger on the front), I laughed so hard I almost cried.
In fact, I was laughing so hard, I almost missed seeing Fred!
It was great to catch up and talk to him again!
He also took our picture with our bibs! I truly meant to put K-Ren on my bib, but I somehow messed up and put my twitter username. Definitely didn't mean that! Haha oh well...whoops!
After packet pickup, we walked over to LaLou (the former Broken Egg Cafe) and enjoyed a yummy breakfast!
Same owners, new restaurant name, similar menu. I noticed a few things that weren't on the menu anymore, but it all still looked and sounded pretty good!
We also noticed a downtown festival that looked intriguing, so we walked through to check it all out! We didn't buy anything, but we enjoyed browsing the various booths!
Our after lunch treat included a stop at PJ's. We tried to find a snowball stand but the one I've been to was closed. PJ's is right next door which is the second best thing, so that's where we went! This sign with the kids cracks me up!!
Apart from a velvet ice, I also ordered a cake ball to go and a slice of banana nut bread for a post race treat!
Our next stop was the hotel to check in and relax before dinner. I laid out all of my race clothing/items, making sure I had everything I needed!
The above is how I prepare before a race...
...and this is how Heather prepares for a race! We got a good laugh out of that one, too!
For dinner, we decided on Cracker Barrell (partly because I had to have another look at their Christmas collection)!
I behaved myself and didn't buy anything this time! :)
Chicken and dumplins for dinner!
We also shopped around Academy and World Market before calling it a night! We had an early wake up call the next morning!
After the race (more on that tomorrow), we showered and took our time getting ready because we had a late check out...so incredibly nice!
Lunch was at the Times Grill for a yummy cheeseburger!
We also stopped a friends parent's house to pick up some maternity clothing she's sharing with me! I am so appreciative...thanks, Heather!
On our way out of town, we stopped at Cafe du Monde in Mandeville for a little take-home treat!
Their iced cafe au lait is incredible. I'm glad we don't have one of these closer to home! I would be in trouble!!
They put the powdered sugar in a separate to-go back so we were able to enjoy them later!
I also couldn't let the weekend go by without a picture of this girl in her purple and gold tigers themed race shirt!! Muahaha!
Overall, we had a ton of fun and really enjoyed ourselves! The weekend was filled with lots of fun times and experiences! Looking forward to the next time!! :)
