A Bunch of Randomness

Number One

I am one excited chick right now! Even though Lacey Levine didn’t make it to the Hollywood round on American Idol, she was still in last night’s episode (even if it was only for 2 seconds…)! Hah!

You can see the video clip here. Watch for my finger, that’s Lacey. The first time I saw her, I screamed so loud the dogs ran into the other room to hide! Whoops…

Number Two

Thank you for all your assistance with Fastpass+ yesterday! I finally figured it out (after help from a friend and a phone call to the help line). Everything’s now booked for Princess Half Marathon Weekend trip! Only 34 days…

Also, I saw a few small pictures of the Princess Dooney’s and they seem to be a bit different from the past few year’s design. I see a pinkish tint to the bag…and I love it!

I tend to stress out about times when I’m at Disney (so much to see so much to do) and after reading about the process for New Balance, I’m thinking I might not have enough time to snag a pair of shoes. It’s ok…if not, I’ll wait until the hype dies down a little, then I’ll try again.

Number Three

I downloaded the Frozen soundtrack off iTunes yesterday and I love it! Can’t wait to add it to my running playlist!

Number Four

I am sooooo looking forward to Disney food. I’ve been watching YouTube videos of Princess Half Marathon Weekends of the past and oh my goodness…I just can’t wait! Ohana…Ghirardelli…caramel apples….I think my family is going to have to roll me back home! Hah!

Number Five

Every once in a while my dogs do something to remind me they really are dogs (apart from chewing on their own toys)…

Yesterday after I got home from work, my pen fell out of my scrub pocket. I was talking to Jason and didn’t realize that Madalynn picked my pen up. By the time we realized it, she had completely chewed the end and now my fun click pen no longer clicks. She doesn’t usually chew on random things so this took me by surprise…but, she IS a dog after all!

Number Six

We received final instructions and corral assignments for Rock n Roll New Orleans yesterday!! Hard to believe my fifth Marathon is only 2 and a half weeks away. OMG.

Fitness Friday–August 9

This past week, I spent most of my time catching up on sleep and visiting with family. I even managed to squeeze in a few workouts, too!

Pixie likes to nap while I work out! :0)

Currently training for: Dumbo Double Dare – August 31/September 1st, Disneyland, CA

Saturday – 12 mile run with the running group
Sunday – Rest Day 
Monday – Rest Day – I was still exhausted from Saturday and the busy weekend
Tuesday – 2 mile run
Wednesday – 3 mile run
Thursday – Rest Day 
Friday – 5 mile run

I had too much going on last weekend and wasn’t able to add in the 6 mile run on Friday like I wanted. I will run a 5 miler this afternoon and I’ll run 10 miles tomorrow with my running group to make up for my lack of a back to back run last weekend.

Additionally, we were able to spend a little more time with Jason’s sister/husband and our niece Leigha before they left to return home.

Her cheeks remind me SO much of pictures I’ve seen of Jason’s cheeks as a baby! Too cute!

Yesterday, Laura and I spent the afternoon decorating Lacey’s driveway/house for her return from Austin! We had SO much fun…but it was HOT out there!

No “welcome home” party is complete without balloons!

The American Idol Experience

If you’ve visited Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, chances are you’ve passed by, watched, or even taken part in the action of The American Idol Experience.

Although I cannot sing, I stop by AI Experience while in Hollywood Studios because I  really enjoy being a part of the “show”…the audience part, that is.  Each day, (and several times throughout the day), contestants line the stage to sing their heart out for a chance at performing in the live finale of the day. The winner of each day’s finale receives a “dream ticket”. Even though this ticket does not guarantee the contestant a trip to LA,  it does ensure that the contestant receives an audition in front of the show’s producers at an American Idol audition in any city of their choosing (i.e., they get to bypass ALL of those people you see on TV and perform directly for the producers!).

For one very special young lady, her American Idol journey continues today.

Meet: Lacey Levine.

Lacey is a spirited 18 year old girl from Louisiana. She loves to sing, loves the Lord, and has a passion for music. Lacey truly shines as an individual and knows how to captivate her audience when she takes the stage.

Remember the amazing Disney themed birthday party I told you about back in May? The birthday girl was Lacey! Imagine that…Small World! :0)

This past November, Lacey was given a chance at the dream of a lifetime – she auditioned for The American Idol Experience at Hollywood Studios and not only made it onto the show, but won the first round and continued on to the finale! She was in Walt Disney World with her Aunt and Uncle (as her graduation gift) and they encouraged her every step of the way.

As time drew near for the finale, Lacey took the stage one last time, and emerged….

….a winner! Dream Ticket in hand, she returned home and patiently awaited auditions for the 2014 American Idol season.

Today, auditions for American Idol are being held in Austin, Texas. Lacey’s journey began in Walt Disney World and continues at this very moment! Where will she go from here? Nobody knows. However, we can hope, pray, and cross our fingers that her dreams will come true once again (hopefully this time, in Hollywood)!

You can catch an all new season of American Idol starting in January of 2014.
