Yesterday, my family and I ran the Texas Rangers Labor Day 5K in Arlington, TX!
We wanted to run a fun Labor Day race and we found one! This race is highly recommended for future years!
We arrived early, but not many people were out and about yet.
Packet and t-shirt pickup was inside of the stadium which was pretty neat! It’s been a long while since I’ve been at (now named) Globe Life Park!
My cousins and I before the race! The girl in the dark striped shirt ran her first 5K ever! So proud of her!
While waiting for the race to begin, we took pictures with the Rangers mascot, Captain!
After the 1 Mile fun runners left, we got in line for the 5K
Excited and ready to go!
The sun began to rise, but it wasn’t terribly hot (yet)!
Here we go!
…and they’re off!
The first mile took us near AT&T stadium (home of the Cowboys)…
….then looped us back around by the ballpark for our first water stop.
I tried to keep a consistent pace, but this course was hilly and the sun was in my eyes for a good portion.
See Six Flags in the distance? A boring course this was not – there was always something to see!
As we neared mile 3, we were directed towards the ballpark tunnel entrance!
Only important people are allowed down here (on a regular basis), so we felt special! :)
Inside the tunnel…
…and out onto the field!
The finish line ended on the third base side of the field which was super neat!
Done! Now waiting on the others!
Such a gorgeous park!
My goal was to keep below a 9 minute pace, but it was tough!
Each finisher received a ribbon!
I had so much fun running this race with my family! They are a fun group of people to be around! Can’t wait for next time!
Did you run a Labor Day Race? How was it?
