11 Month Baby Update

Hi there and happy Monday! We returned from our Walt Disney World vacation late last week and have spent the weekend catching up on sleep, washing clothes, and recuperating from our trip. We had a blast and I cannot wait to share it all with you. Trip recaps will begin this week, so stay tuned!

Yesterday, my little man turned 11 months old!!

It's crazy to think that we are just 1 month shy of his 1 year birthday!

Clothing: 9-12 months and 12 months; sleepers are mostly12 months but he still fits in some 9-12 month sleepers
Diapers: Size 3 but we will move to size 4 as soon as this box is finished
Weight: 24 pounds
Height: 29 1/4 inches (estimated)

This month, Brayden experienced a lot of exciting things!

He's officially crawling consistently on his hands and knees and loves to pull himself up on random things around the house. Playing with the remotes on the coffee table is his favorite!

His first Valentines Day was a fun one, too!

He LOVES to play peek-a-boo and doing so will almost always warrant a smile and a giggle.

The most exciting thing that happened this past month was his first trip to Walt Disney World which included his first flight! He took the flight like a champ and even napped part of the way!

As part of our Disney trip, Brayden also completed his first race, the Diaper Dash (more on that to come)!

He LOVED the rides at Disney and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the parks.

While there, he attended his first Spring Training game (and mine)!

His first haircut also took place at Disney. I had to laugh at his last day morning hair. I was tired of the "flippies" and couldn't wait to have them gone.

We LOVED our experience at the Harmony Barber Shop in the Magic Kingdom. Margaret was his barber and did an amazing job with his haircut. Also, there will be more to come on his first haircut in a future post, so stay tuned for that, too! :)

I was so worried that Brayden would be scared of the characters, fireworks, and rides but he wasn't scared one bit!

His favorite characters were Winnie the Pooh and Tigger! :)

I'd say he has Disney in his genes and he's shaping up to be a little Mousketeer! :)

While in Disney, Brayden cut another tooth - his fifth tooth (upper right) is now making its way in and he took it like a champ.

He's still at two naps a day - one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Sleeping at night is also going well with the occasional wake-ups here and there.

Playing with toys and running around in the walker are some of his favorite things to do. The brighter the toy, the better - if it lights up and plays music, he loves it. He sure can get around super fast in the walker, too!

While at Disney, we discovered that he loooooves bubbles, so a bubble machine is on his birthday list!

Food is another one of Brayden's favorite things and pretty much eats anything we put in front of him. He is still taking several bottles throughout the day, but eats two to three solid meals a day with snacks in between.

He loves to babble and just talks and talks away. He's said "mama" several times, but we aren't sure if that was a purposeful "mama" or just part of his baby babble. He's now reaching that stage where he really wants me and doesn't like it when I drop him off at places like the nursery and Mother's Day Out.

Clapping his hands is a new skill he's learned and will clap away when he hears "Yay Brayden"!

A few of the things he doesn't like include super loud noises, taking things away that he really wants, and sitting still. Now that he's more mobile, he wants to go go go all the time!

On Friday, we took his 1 year and cake smash pictures. It's hard to believe my little munchkin will have his first birthday party in less than a month. Where has this past year gone?! It sure did fly by.

That's all for today's update! Stay tuned for more of our recent Disney trip and Princess Half Marathon Weekend recaps! Have a wonderful Monday!

Advice for Disney With A Baby

Since the holidays are behind us now, it's time to add the final touches to our upcoming Disney trip for the Princess Half Marathon weekend...which is fast approaching! We can't wait to experience Disney with Brayden for the first time (outside the womb) and we are excited to travel once again with my parents. By the way, how has it already been over a year since my last trip? I don't quite believe it!

With that, here's a few plans I've made thus far:

  • Early Dinners - we are eating dinner at several table service restaurants and they are planned for an earlier time due to having a baby with us (he will be 10 months old during the trip). Our restaurants include: The Garden Grill, Ohana, The Crystal Palace, Whispering Canyon Cafe, and Be Our Guest.
  • Stroller Rental - a friend recommended renting a stroller in Disney vs trying to fly with one, so I read reviews of a few companies and came up with Kingdom Strollers. They deliver the stroller to your resort and pick it up once your trip is complete.
  • Baby's First Haircut - although he could use a haircut now, I'm pushing it a bit just to experience his first haircut on Main Street! The Harmony Barber Shop offers a "baby's first haircut" package and it looks too cute to pass up! It's already booked and ready to go!
  • Earmuffs - we purchased these for Brayden to help with the noise on both the plane and in the parks.
  • Baby Carrier - I do own one and will bring it with me for use at the airport and as needed throughout the parks.
Over the past few weeks, I've been googling tips and reading Pinterest pins but I would still like some input.
  • What are your must-haves for traveling to WDW with a baby?
  • How about tips for flying with a baby?
  • Anyone have experience with working with a grocery service in Florida? I'm debating on using them for things like diapers, wipes, and baby water.
Also, I do realize that plans fly out of the window sometimes with a baby, so none of these things are necessarily set in stone...we are just looking forward to traveling to Disney with no expectations and enjoying our time there!

Thanks for your help and input! It's much appreciated!
