Friday Five Week In Review

Hello, hello! What a whirlwind of a week it's been! No, I haven't fall off the face of the earth and although this week has been a bit cray cray, I'm still here!

Today's Friday Five is a freebie, so I'm going to share my week with you!

This Friday Five Linkup is hosted by  Running on Happy & Fairytales and Fitness.

This week has been full of all kinds of party planning and other fun things - but mostly party planning!

That's right - on Wednesday, my sweet little boy turns ONE year old. ONE! This past year has seriously been one of the fastest years of my life.

Planning for his birthday party has been in full swing and sheesh...I'm exhausted!  His theme is Mickey Mouse because this child loooooves Mickey Mouse! I can't wait to share all of the details with you! Pinterest has definitely been my BFF here recently!

On Saturday morning, my friend Heather and I ventured out for our long run a bit later than usual due to a CRAZY storm that passed through our area. We definitely could not have gone for our run at 7 a.m. like usual due to lightning, wind, and pelting sideways rain, so we waited until the storm passed which wasn't until about 11 a.m. The rain brought a chill to the air and I really enjoyed the run. Even though I'm used to having my run over by that part of the day, I much rather have gotten a run in than not at all!

Speaking of running, I've been laying low on the running front this week because I think I injured my back by wearing my running shoes too long. Last week, I posted to Instagram about wearing my shoes for the last time and then as I mentioned, it rained like CRAZY on Saturday morning....so instead of opening a brand new box of shoes, I wore my old ones again. Well, that was stupid because I definitely needed to change them out and now I have a sore area on my hip/lower back and have had to sleep on a heating pad the past few nights. The pain has gotten so much better as the week has gone on but still, this is a lesson learned! When it's time to change your shoes, do it!

Beauty and the Beast! OH my gosh I finally had the chance to see it and I loved it!! I think Disney did such an amazing job with the live action version, I didn't want to leave my seat. I seriously wanted to go watch the movie all over again, right then and there! Round two will definitely happen soon and I can't wait!

My parent's 40th Wedding Anniversary took place this week! :)

We had a chance to celebrate when we were at in Disney in February, but it was fun to also celebrate with them again back home on the actual day!

I hope you all have a great weekend! I am thinking I'll skip my run this weekend (I'm sure I'll be running all over like mad for Brayden's party anyway), then resume on Monday and see what happens! I've seriously learned my lesson about shoes...I'll never do that again!

Have you seen Beauty and the Beast? What were your thoughts?

Rambling Thoughts For Thursday

Today, I had some rambling thoughts going through my head, so I'm sharing them with you here.

I can hardly believe it, but it's finally Princess Half Marathon month! Eeek! You guys know I had to defer Princess last year due to being on restriction due to pregnancy, so I am even more excited about this year! You know what's crazy? 2015's Princess Half was my last runDisney experience! I'm having withdrawals, y'all! Over the past week, I've been working on shirt ideas for us to wear while we're at the parks and also my running costume which I'm seriously stumped on over here. Ah well, it will all come together in the end! (Side note: runDisney no longer allows race deferrals which I think is a bit mad but whatever...)

-------------------------------------

Speaking of our upcoming WDW trip, thanks for the tips - I cancelled the stroller rental and decided to just bring my own. I was worried about the ease of getting it on and off the plane but you guys made it sound super easy so I'm crossing my fingers!

-------------------------------------

Rock N Roll New Orleans is also this weekend and I'm super pumped! My running buddy Heather and I will be there to run the half and we are really looking forward to another girl's weekend! If you are there and see me around, please say hi! :) I would love to meet you!

-------------------------------------

Speaking of upcoming races and trips, I went through and saved photos from my iphone to my computer last night and also deleted about 7,000 photos. I hadn't done that since the fall and my phone messages warned that my storage was almost full. It was CRAZY to see pictures of Brayden just 3 months ago and how much he's changed. It makes me happy that he's growing like he should but also makes me sad at the same time. SLOW DOWN time. Please.

-------------------------------------

Last but not least, speaking of growing up to fast.....guess what's just around the corner in a few months? Brayden's first birthday party! Lately, I've been rolling around ideas, saving ideas to pinterest, and getting the crafty part of my brain ready to plan party stuff! We are going with a Mickey theme (of course) and I can't wait! It's going to be so much fun!!

Well, that's it for now! I hope you have a great Thursday! It's almost the weekend, y'all! :)

Items I Would Buy Again

Today's Friday Five Theme is: Items I Would Buy Again.

When I first heard today's topic, I began thinking of items that pertain to me in my everyday life right now - so anything from running to baby and holiday related.

http://fairytalesandfitness.com/

Here's my list!

#1 BOB Jogging Stroller

I sure do love this jogging stroller and so does Brayden! The ride is super smooth and the handlebars are comfortable for holding on to. The BOB sure comes in handy for days when my only option for a run is to take my little guy along with me!

#2 Baby Brezza

I was first introduced to the Baby Brezza by my friend Heather when we visited her last year. This thing is amazing and reminds me of a Keurig for babies! If you are planning on formula feeding at all, the Brezza is a LIFE SAVER! I highly recommend it!

#3 Legend Compression

I know I've discussed my love for all things compression in the past - and although I am a Legend Compression Ambassador, I have to say that these are by far the best compression socks I've ever owned. I wouldn't say that if I didn't mean it. The compression is just perfect to fit my needs and I love the wide variety of colors available. If you're interested in a pair, check out my referral link - it will save you $15 on your first order! These are great for Christmas gifts, too!

#4 Fit Bit

I love love love my fitbit! When deciding on a type, I went with the fitbit One (clip on style) - that way I could wear it at all times no matter the outfit! It's fun to see how many steps I've taken each day and it's motivating to look back at the end of the day and see if I need to take a few more steps.

#5 Garmin

Although I have asked for a new one from Santa, I can't run without my Garmin! This watch has been with me through marathons, lots of races, and many training runs.

Bonus: #6 Operation Christmas Child

Although none of these items were purchased for myself, I did help put them together for a great cause! Operation Christmas Child grants Christmas "boxes"/gifts to children in other countries who wouldn't otherwise receive a gift. I love this cause and they were fun to put together!

That's all! I hope you have a great weekend!

What's one item you would buy again?
