Disneyland

For today's Wordless Wednesday, I'm going back to California and my recent Disneyland trip where I ran the Tinker Bell Half Marathon! This trip was an incredibly short one where I only had one day to explore the parks, so I spent my entire time in Disneyland itself. We were able to ride several rides, eat yummy food, and simply enjoy the day!

Enjoy a small glimpse into the Happiest Place on Earth! :)

This Is Really Good-Princess Half Marathon Edition

Now that the drama and stress of yesterday is gone (registering for the Princess Half Marathon, I mean), it's time for the fun to begin! Honestly, though - I haven't been that stressed in a long time. Wow, it was madness! I heard that the GSC sold out in less than 25 minutes!!

Anyway, today's Wordless Wednesday theme is entitled "That is really good"! Last time, I chose to share about my favorite restaurant on property, Ohana. Today, I'm taking a completely different turn to share  another one of my favorite things, the Princess Half Marathon!

Today’s Wordless Wednesday theme is: This is really good!

Why do I think the Princess Half Marathon is really good? Well, there's the random running-into of friends, there's characters along the way, great scenery and really cool behind-the-scenes things to see, and there's bling. Oh yes, and Mickey waffles always taste better after 13.1 or 19.3 miles!

All 4 Run

Patriotic - Red, White, and Blue - 4th of July - Celebrating America - you name it, I love it! There's just something about this time of year that really builds my patriotic pride. We live in a beautiful country with this amazing thing we call freedom...I love our country and the principals it was built upon. I truly love being an American!

With all of that said, can you imagine my excitement when I heard about Gone For a Run's "All 4 Run" 4th of July 4 mile virtual race?

http://www.goneforarun.com/Virtual_Races_s/1954.htm

That's right! Gone For A Run's virtual race series has been such a success, the races keep on coming!

http://www.goneforarun.com/Virtual_Races_s/1954.htm

How does one participate in this fun event? Well, it's easy! Head over to Gone For A Run and select which virtual race you're interested in (notice that the 4 miler has a few different options - a basic entry, one with a tutu/grip band, and another with a pair of patriotic socks/RokBAND)!

http://www.goneforarun.com/Virtual_Races_s/1954.htm

Included in the Basic Entry:
  • Race Shirt (either a Women's Athletic Tank Top, Men's Lifestyle Tee or Youth Short Sleeve Tee)
  • Gorgeous finisher medal
  • Real race bib (no downloads!)
  • Patriotic car magnet (Quite possibly my favorite part of the whole packet!)
This race will be held July 2nd-5th (at your convenience - pick a day and run with it...literally). I plan on running my race sometime during the 4th of July weekend, maybe the 3rd of July. I also have a home town race on 4th of July morning so I'm still trying to devise my weekend plan! :)

Please note: Be sure to place your order by June 22nd to ensure on time packet shipping!

Are you planning to run any 4th of July races this year?

Disclaimer: As a Gone For A Run Ambassador, I am receiving complimentary entry into this race. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

Today’s Wordless Wednesday (Disney Style) is hosted by Deb at Focused on the Magic and the theme is 4 Favorite Things (any things).

Magical Design

I’ve been a runner for several years now (January will make 5 years) and have accumulated quite a medal collection since then.

Several years ago, my husband purchased an Allied Medal Hanger as a birthday gift for me. Over time, the hanger became full and could no longer hold race medals. Guess that meant I needed a new one, right? :0)

Ever since Allied Medal introduced their Magical Designs, I’ve been hooked! I’m the kind of person who is a bit OCD about “likeness”. Since I already owned an Allied Medal Display, why not have another one to add to the collection?

After returning from the Disneyland Half Marathon, I showed the the medal designs to Jason as an idea for a Christmas gift. Days later, I was notified that I won an Allied Medal display of my choice from a giveaway over at Mindy’s blog, Road Runner Girl! Perfect timing! I could not have been more excited!

The medal hanger arrived yesterday and I couldn’t wait to open up the package.

I chose the “Every Mile Is Magic” design and I love love love it! It’s beautiful and perfect for my Disney medal collection!

Sadly, I had several medals (Dumbo’s Double Dare/Coast to Coast) and my photo from Goofy’s Challenge that hadn’t yet found a home. That all changed last night!

The medal hanger arrived with several screws, spacers, and drywall anchors. A quick search of their website brought up installation instructions that were very simple to follow.

After laying out my placement ideas, I got to work!

Despite the level tool, I still have several holes I’ll need to fill in and repaint. Whoops.

These spacers are seriously the best idea, ever! They kept the medal design away from the wall for easy access to the rods. I used three of the five spacers for my Disney design, so the extra two spacers went to my original “Live Your Dream” design. Now all of my Rock n Roll NOLA medals hang without a problem – the medal “ribbons” consist of Mardi Gras beads (I love them, but always had trouble displaying them)!

I am absolutely in love with the finished product!

My Disney medals are displayed from the “Magical Design” hanger and the rest are on the “Live Your Dream” hanger.

I see lots of extra space on my Magical Designs hanger…sounds like plenty of opportunities for future runDisney races to me! :0)

Thanks again, Allied Medal and Mindy! I appreciate everything!

How do you display your race medals?
