Running Storage and Display

If you're anything like me and have been running races for quite a number of years, your closet and "bling" racks are full!

With shirts and medals constantly being added to my collection along with an ever changing supply of running shoes, a little organization is required every now and again. Here's a glimpse of the running storage and display over in my neck of the woods! :)

Bling/Display:

Tuesdays On The Run

My running bling is stored on a wall in my husband's game room. Two medal racks are separated by Disney and non-Disney medals! :)

I also have a few extra awards/displays hanging above the medals!

Tuesdays On The Run

My Disney medal rack needs an extra row, BAD! Guess I'm adding that to my Christmas list!

All of my race bibs are stored in scrapbooks, along with a few pictures from each race. I'm seriously behind on my scrapbooking efforts (currently on 2014), but I'm catching up pretty quickly!

Storage:

Tuesdays On The Run

Several years back, Jason and I returned from a weekend trip to find our closet in shambles. A shelf had pulled away from the wall and left a MESS everywhere! In an effort to repair the closet, we purchased sturdier shelving and Jason graciously added a row for my running shirts and skirts/costumes! I love having this extra shelf as it opened up so much room in my dresser!

Not pictured here is my dry fit long-sleeved shirts and tights. These are all neatly folded inside a dresser drawer for easy access during the winter months.

As far as shoe storage goes, I have a shoe rack that holds a bit of everything, including my very first pair of Mizuno's (can't get rid of those)! As I replace my current pair of running shoes, the oldest pair from this rack gets donated to a local clothing/shoe charity.

Also not pictured here is my running bag storage cabinet. This cabinet is located in our wash room for easy access to our garage door. On Saturday mornings when I'm attempting to be quiet, I can slip my bag out of the cabinet and head out the door without issue...and without waking a sleeping baby!

How do you display your accomplishments and store your necessary running items?

  3. I might need an additional hanging bar on my display. I've thought about removing some 5k medals from the display, but darnit I earned those too.

  4. I love your organization system! My medals are half piled up on a table and half in a box, collecting dust! I really want to get a display but can't decide what to get!

  5. I love your bling wall! My medals are getting a bit out of control and I need to update the wall. Like you, maybe I'll add a couple of items for it to my Christmas list.

  7. You are so organized! I've got stuff all over the place. But I do have a very nice medal rack that my parents gave me for Christmas. I love looking at all my medals displayed there!

  9. I love that you are sentimental about your first pair of Mizunos! I was shocked when I saw my sister put her shoes she ran Boston in in the Yard Sale pile!

Instead of getting another display bar, you can pin your new medals to the ribbons of the ones already hanging there. That's what I did and it gives the illusion of another row.
Ps, why is the running painting hanging over your Disney display box?

    1. HAH I wondered if anyone would notice that!! :D I didn't have a place to put it and just haven't taken the time to formally hang it...so its over the Disney box for now! :)

    2. Thanks for the idea of pinning the medals! That just might work!

  10. Wow... you are very organized. I've got some of my gear organized in a closet toy organizer, but I've outgrown that.

    1. I had the same issue before my husband installed the extra closet shelf/hanger! My running skirts had no where to go!

  11. You are very organized! I love how you have your running shirts and shorts on hangers in the closet. My stuff is here and there but organized in a way that I know where things are. :-)
