Fitness Friday–September 6

It’s September, y’all! Where did this summer go? I blinked and it was over. I remember as a kid, summer seemed to last forever. Now that it’s September (and almost officially Fall), I can decorate my house with pumpkins, oranges, yellows, and browns! Can’t wait – that will be a project I’ll tackle this weekend.

Recently completed: Dumbo Double Dare – August 31/September 1st, Disneyland, CA
Currently training for: Woman’s Half Marathon - December 8, Louisiana

Disneyland Half Marathon Medals

Saturday – Disneyland 10K
Sunday – Disneyland Half Marathon
Monday – Travel Day – Rest
Tuesday – Rest Day – I fell during the half, as in – I fell and busted my bottom (I’ll tell you all about it soon) and because of the fall, my left arm was sore for days. Needless to say, no run today, still resting.
Wednesday – Rest Day – arm still sore
Thursday – Rest Day – Arm feeling somewhat better, no run
Friday – Household plans/projects which include yardwork.

Not a whole lot going on this week, but that’s ok – I like to rest/recuperate about a week after running a half. I plan on running an easy 6 miles on Saturday with my running group.

I’ll be back next week with a continuation of fun times in Disneyland/San Diego.

In the meantime, if you haven’t seen my prior Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend posts, here’s a few about the Expo:

That’s it! How was your week?

  1. You deserve a week of rest after the Dumbo Double Dare! So sorry you hurt your arm but it sounds like it's getting better. I ran the Woman's Half last year...awesome race! I hate I'm going to miss it this year but it's the same weekend as St.Jude Memphis.

  2. Oh dear Karen. I am sorry to hear about your fall. I saw a woman take a header at about mile 18 during the Mickey Marathon in January. Thankfully, there were staff with her immediately. Hope you feel better soon.

  4. Oh no! Sorry to hear about your fall - oddly enough, and unfortunately, I fell last week and its disrupted my running too. I was going to run my first 13 mile run ever - not a race, just a solo run to see if I could do it, and 3 miles in (I was feeling GREAT!) I fell on muddy gravel, skinned my knee pretty bad and had to call it quits and go home to clean up the bloody mess. A week later, I still have to keep it bandaged because it ended up being so much worse than I first thought. I'm really sorry to hear it happened to you, and during a race at that - hope you feel better soon!!!
