Fitness Friday - 8/5

Currently Training For:
  • Cajun Cup 10K (Lafayette, LA)
  • Cajun Country Half Marathon (Lafayette, LA)
  • Disney's Princess Half Marathon & Glass Slipper Challenge
  • Rock n Roll New Orleans Half Marathon
Saturday - 5 mile run
Sunday - Rest Day
Monday - 2 mile walk with Brayden and Jason
Tuesday - Rest Day
Wednesday - Rest Day  
Thursday - Rest Day
Friday - Gleaux Run 5K

Let's just get this out in the open right now - this week stunk in terms of fitness. My husband's work schedule didn't allow any days for me to get in my usual weekday runs. However, I'm 100% ok with that because it's also the week of the Gleaux Run (TONIGHT) and I've been busy with last minute race preparations. That and spending time with Brayden has pretty much consumed all of my free time this week.

However, I did run this past weekend with my running buddy, Heather!

On a normal Saturday, our running coach has a few set routes to follow with water and gatorade along the way. We also receive a route band from here that tells us where to turn for our set mileage. Well, our coach wasn't in town on Saturday morning and a few running group friends set water coolers up throughout the route. In order to follow the correct route, we made do by writing the route on Heather's arm. Whoops.

 Sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do!

It was another hot run and the humidity was gross. The route led us to five miles and we decided to call it a day after that.

On my way home, I stopped by Starbucks to pick up breakfast and coffee for Jason and I!

Non-fat iced caramel macchiato - it's my favorite summer time Starbucks treat!

Brayden, Jason and I really enjoyed our late afternoon walk on Monday!

...and as I mentioned, the rest of the week was spent working, spending time with Brayden, and doing last minute things for tonight's Gleaux Run! I'm excited for this year's event! Although it won't be as big as it has been in the past, it's still going to be a lot of fun!

  1. Nothing wrong with spending your free time with Brayden instead of running. I've been making the same trade offs recently too and letting my strength training go to the wayside.

  2. Can't wait to hear about the run tonight!

  3. My training has been non existence since we got home from NY. Allergies & sinus issues really had me messed up. I got a run in yesterday so hopefully I'm getting back on track.
