Rock and Roll Dallas Half Marathon Recap Part 1: The Expo!

Welcome to the start of my Rock and Roll Dallas Half Marathon recap!  The first recap will contain a review of the Expo, followed by our Dallas sightseeing adventures, then finally the race.

Enjoy! :0)

Friday afternoon, we had a little hiccup trying to leave for Dallas.  I dropped off my car that morning at my favorite mechanic shop for an oil change and expected it to be ready by noon when I got off of work.  I was sorely mistaken (they were short one man) and I didn’t have my car until 2 p.m.  We finally got on the road at 2:30 p.m. – 2 1/2 hours off course.  It’s a 6 hour drive to Dallas from where I live! Oh well.

We met up with my Sister in Law Kayla and parked my car at her parents house, then we continued on our way!

After short stop in Tyler, TX for dinner at Applebee's and Ice Cream, we finally arrived at my Aunt’s and Uncle’s house!   It wasn’t long after that, we were asleep because we knew we had an early morning ahead of us!

Saturday morning, we woke up and made our way to downtown Dallas for the Expo!

I was excited to finally be here!  We didn’t have to walk almost a mile to find the Expo (like we did in New Orleans!  Hah!)!  Yay!

My long time runner cousin was running this race with us!  She told us multiple times that she’s a “slow” runner…(please)…and that we could leave her if we needed to!  Hah!  Yeah right!

On our way back home, we passed the American Airlines Center.  My Uncle retired from contracting work and the AA center was one of his final projects before retirement.  He took us on a tour of this building just a few weeks before it opened!  It’s such a neat place!

We stopped first at my cousin’s house to give my younger cousin the shoe that Jason won!
